We moved from Mississippi State University to East Texas with our flock of purebred breeding sheep and have continued to raise sheep and broilers for 23 years. Retiring from the chicken business raised many questions about another source of income on the farm.
I decided to visit several boer goat operations, shows, and sales to investigate the breed. Since my first breeding sheep had come from the Trans Pecos Ranch, I decided to call Darla and Warren Cude and buy a good quality doe, have her flushed and raise a group of kids with the same genetic base.
